CENTRE FOR EARLY DEVELOPMENT, LEARNING & CARE (CEDLAC)
From the Director

I welcome you heartily on behalf of the entire management, staff and pupils of the Centre For Early Development, Learning & Care (CEDLAC). We are very delighted that you have chosen our centre for your child as we see it as a privilege to have the opportunity to impact the lives of children with developmental disabilities.

Children with developmental disabilities can learn and live meaningful lives when their needs are attended to and their interests carefully developed…

Our focus is to provide evidence-based and affordable care for children with developmental disabilities such as Autism, Intellectual Disability (Mental Retardation), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and other related disorders such as Cerebral Palsy and Down’s Syndrome.

There are over 300 million children living with developmental disabilities globally and the majority of these children live in sub-Saharan Africa. Therefore, your child is not alone. With appropriate intervention, training and support, children with developmental disabilities can live a meaningful life and contribute to their community.

At the CEDLAC, you can rest assured that your child or ward is in safe hands and will receive all-around care going by the experience and professional pedigree of the Director, Dr Yetunde Adeniyi.

Dr Adeniyi is a medical doctor. She graduated from the University of Ilorin in 2001. She then had her internship in Medicine, Surgery, Paediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology. She proceeded for her postgraduate fellowship training in Psychiatry at the University College Hospital Ibadan for 6 years, after which she was awarded Fellow of the West African College of Physicians (FWACP).

As a result of her passion for children, she proceeded into another 2-year post-fellowship training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry with special interest in developmental disorders. She was thereafter awarded the Advanced Certificate in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry by the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria in May, 2016, making her one of the only two people with this qualification in Nigeria.

She also has a Master’s degree, with a distinction, in Child and Adolescent Mental Health from the University of Ibadan. She lives in Ibadan with her husband and three children.

We are very pleased to be your partner in the care and development of your child. Please feel free to take a tour of our website and contact us via any of our communication channels. I hope you will look closely at our programs, interventions and reports from other caregivers and partners as we all work together to ensure that every child reaches beyond limits.
